No action is needed at this time. The RMI will be sharing additional information with members about how to prepare for this change, including instructions for accessing RBA-Online if you do not already have an account, a frequently asked questions document, and live and recorded trainings. There will be a transition period in which access to the Facility Database through both the current and new system will be available. We are aware that many members use APIs and have considered these and a range of member use cases, and the design process has also been informed by member testing.
RMI will continue to keep members informed on the Facility Database updates via member newsletters, RMI plenary calls, the member meeting, and individual email communications.
The Facility Database is the RMI’s unified data repository capturing all facilities identified through Mineral Reporting Template submissions, including downstream companies, processors, refiners, recyclers and mines. It includes RMI assessed facilities and all facilities assessed by participating external schemes.
It is a single and reliable source to see where facilities sit in the mineral supply chain and whether they have been assessed, whether by the RMI or other leading standards. With harmonized definitions and expanded coverage, members will now better understand their suppliers, avoid duplicative checks, and strengthen their due diligence practices. It is truly our one-stop shop for facility-level assessment data.
